Jennifer Perry, DVM
Director of Medicine
Dr. Jennifer Perry joined Flower Mound Emergency Pet Clinic during its first year of business in 2008. She has been the medical director since the clinic opened that year. She is originally from Oklahoma and attended undergraduate at Oklahoma State from 1987 – 1990 in the Bachelor of Science /Zoology program. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinarian Medicine degree from Oklahoma State in 1994, and then made the move to Texas. After working in a general practice for 2 years, she developed an interest in Emergency and Critical Care medicine. She is also the Medical Director of North Texas Emergency Pet Clinic and has been with that clinic since 1998. She is a member of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, and has been since 1999. She enjoys their yearly continuing education meetings. Dr Perry spends her time outside of the clinic with her husband and 5 boys. This involves a lot of baseball without many dull moments. She also manages the family zoo which consists of a Labrador retriever, a pit bull/Lab mix, 3 very tolerant cats, 4 box turtles, and a couple Sulcata tortoises.
Karen Matlock, DVM
Dr. Karen Matlock is a 1986 graduate of Oklahoma State University. She has worked in Dallas, Coppell, Irving, and Flower Mound in both emergency and day practices. She is happy to share her home with her terrier mix Louie and Harley the cat, both rescues. She has two grown children and has been a Flower Mound resident since 2001. She enjoys knitting, reading, traveling, and volunteering.
Dr. Matlock was the recipient of D Magazine's Best Bets for Vets in 2001.
Jennifer Kesler, DVMEmail
Dr. Jennifer Kesler grew up in the small Central Kansas town of Bushton. The inspiration of her Grandfather, the love of animals, the interest in science and medicine, and the support of her family all led her in the direction to become a veterinarian. She received her Bachelors of Animal Science degree from Kansas State University. From there, she went veterinary school at Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with her DVM in 2008. After graduation she worked at a highly progressive veterinary hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, for 6 years where she gained invaluable experience in medicine and surgery. Dr. Kesler is now working part-time as an emergency doctor here at Flower Mound Emergency Pet Clinic and loving the shift into emergency medicine. Dr. Kesler is enjoying the change to Texas with her husband, Dave, and his daughter Grace. Their animal family member SoCo (who is a boxer) is her constant companion. Her hobbies include traveling with her amazing husband, Kansas State sports, Cardinals baseball, and spending time with friends and family!
